NOTICE OF VIRTUAL HEARING

ERC CASE NO. 2023-104 RC

ESAMELCO faced unforeseen delays in the scheduling of Competitive Selection Process (CSP) activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and government-imposed restrictions. With time running short before ESAMELCO's Power Supply Agreement (PSA) expires, they were compelled to explore alternative solutions.

In a letter dated June 27, 2022, ESAMELCO formally appealed to the Department of Energy (DOE) for an exemption from the CSP requirement. The letter highlighted ESAMELCO's urgent requirement for electricity supply, citing circumstances beyond their control.

ERC directed ESAMELCO and KEPCO SPC Power Corporation (KSPC) to conduct a Joint Application hearing . The Determination of compliance with jurisdictional requirements and Expository Presentation are set for April 04, 2024, and the Pre-Trial Conference and Presentation of Evidence are scheduled for April 11, 2024, at ESAMELCO's principal office located at Brgy.
